TOP Rebel R-F01

T.O.P. Racing have shown off photos of the production Rebel R-F01 Formula One chassis which is due for release early next month. It features full adjustable front suspension geometry, link type rear suspension, super lightweight chassis and is 7.4V 2S LiPo and shorty LiPo compatible. Compatible with Tamiya F1 front suspension and the kit will require a Tamiya compatible F1 front spoiler and rear wing.

From Red-RC of course.

the F1 Posse site.

TheF1Posse.com is no more. I killed the website. Quickly realized that everything I wanted to do on that site, I already do here. And a lot cheaper. Plus this site gets about 20x the traffic as F1posse.

Novak tech support

Just wanted to jot this down on here and tell you the experience I just had with Novak. I emailed them a question about one of my speedos. They responded, with the answer, in under a minute! Now that's service. I had to say something about it.

New Team Race Team Members

Added 1/12 scale to the stable once again. Bought a used CRC Gen XL. Good price and I couldn't turn it down. It will give me a class to run on Thursdays when I go to Mikes. I raced this weekend. There was another Pro series race at Mikes this weekend for the outdoor track, so very limited inside racing. No F1, no VTA, no 1/12, just WGT and Sedan. WGT was pretty bad for me. I got T boned by 2 cars in the first qualifier, and broke the chassis where the left side link mounts. Patched it up for Q2 but it didnt hold. Waiting to hear how much a replacement is going to set me back. But in the meantime, I got creative with an old graphite bottom motor plate and some epoxy. Hopefully it will get me through the series race this coming weekend. If not, I have a plan B.  A little slower, but very durable, and a little surprise for any one in front of me.
Plan B aka JagdPanther. When horsepower just isn't enough.

1/10 and 1/12. Awwww how cute. Twinkies.

Tamiya Team Lotus Type 102B on F104W- coming soon

Team Lotus entered the 1991 F1 season with the Type 102B, a modified version of the Type 102 used in the previous season. It was powered by a 3.5-liter V8 Judd engine mounted onto a carbon-composite monocoque chassis and its aerodynamic body was adorned with a green and white livery. Tamiya was one of the team's sponsors during this season and the car featured Tamiya logos in prominent locations. Finnish driver Mika Hkkinen, who later became a world champion, famously drove this car as a rookie and an actual example is on display at Tamiya's headquarters in Shizuoka. The original R/C assembly kit was introduced on the F101 chassis. The re-release version is available on the proven and modern F104W chassis.

ramblings

I'm trying something different today. I'm at work, using my phone to post. Some new stuff from 3racing is coming out. Along with the upcoming F113, they have the body and wingset coming out as well. The body is a generic "perfomance" inspired body and the wingset is vintage 80's -90's. Front wing is polycarbonate for the cone and mount with clear lexan for the actual wings. Only word on the F113 is that its a solid axle 190mm pan car. Pics should leak soon I'm sure.

Exotek front end installed

Got the Exotek link front end this week and installed it. Sturdy, easy to put together and looks trick. Plenty adjustable and durable from the looks of it. Will find out for certain as I bash my way around the track next weekend. On a good note, I finally get to go back to working the day shift, so more track time is in my immediate future. Hopefully I can get some laps before the next race weekend. And put a stop to my DNF streak of late. Time to get this shit together and look like I know what I am doing for once. I also have a new Mclaren MP4/24 body and new Marlboro decals from the F1 Paintlab coming. The new decals BP is churning out are looking great. I highly recommend checking them out. I see another body/livery in my future already with his new Benetton B88 decal sheet. That will most likely go on the F109 which is inching it's way ever so close to being back to ready to run. New shock went on this week. Just need another composite F103 frontend and some servo mounts. One F109 was sold last week, my Sakura Zero S for VTA went on sale today. Look for it on RCTech if your interested. Most of the aluminium hop ups are on it and at a good price. I will take a pretty good loss selling it. So be it, I need more F1 parts!!

Exotek link front ends and more

Thats right, I said front ends as in more than one.

Exotek is about to release the FGX link front end like the one they have just released for the F104. Robert got some shots of it at the UF1 race this weekend. So get ready FGX owners, your finally going to have an after market front end worth having over that glass stock one. The second I sell my FGX Exotek fixed the lower arm, and now they have the upper figured out as well. Way to go Exotek. And here is something else in the Skunkworks making an appearance at the UF1 race this weekend: a new rear camber mount. Dont know all the details, but right from the beginning there were questions about the stock camber mount on the FGX, Exotek is fixing that as well. You can see it in this pic in raw aluminium.

UF1 at Tamiya

Got a couple of pics from Robert this weekend. Here is two shots of the Tamiya track. Pretty damn nice.  SoCal has it made with so many places to race. Robert says there were over 40 F1s and he made the B main. Outstanding. And he rode his motorcycle all the way out there! Looks like fun was had by all, and a couple of Big Name Drivers were there as well.

little more f104 pro v2

May 5 UF1 at TCS

Big UF1 race this weekend at the Tamiya track in SoCal. Our main man on the scene, Racer Robert is on his way now to compete with the UF1's finest on an epic track. May also see the debut of the new Tamiya F104 Pro V2 if the rumors prove true. Factory test pilots just may have them on hand for some live testing. Hope so, and of course hope for details. Good luck Robert.
